About

Helping people become better coaches

We do what we do because not only do we find that people often limit their own potential through a lack of understanding of what is possible, they’re also unclear on how to best support the learning of others – usually called coaching!! We love to keep things simple and spend an unhealthy amount of time looking at the evidence behind where ability comes from and developing practical ways to help others reach their potential. Our passion is to share learning to help create environments where personal growth is a daily habit.

Tony Stanger

Tony represented Scotland 52 times at Rugby Union, was part of the victorious British Lions Tour to South Africa in 1997 and scored arguably the most famous try in Scottish rugby history to win the Grand Slam in 1990.

He has a 1st class Honours degree in applied sports science and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Edinburgh and worked for 7 years as a professional coach for Leeds Rugby Academy and London Irish RFC.  Following a role as Head of Talent at the Scottish Institute of Sport – a job specialising in understanding how to maximise the potential of limited talent pools, he now has 10 year experience helping clients in business and sport become more effective coaches.

He has a strong family focus and loves challenges and the life experiences they offer. When he’s not working (and sometimes when he should be!) his hobby is using what he knows to maximise his golfing potential ☺

Bid Stanger - Director Stanger Pro

Bid Stanger

Bid Stanger is a very proud Kiwi and as a successful junior athlete who is fascinated by what more we can do to help people reach their potential.

Over the past 20 years she has been involved in coaching a range of sports at participation level including rugby, athletics and swimming, with a focus on motivating young people to develop a lifelong approach to sport and physical activity.

An ever-willing volunteer she is also a Team Manager currently working with Youth & Senior Academy Squads and the Senior Team with Scottish Swimming.  She’s also an active Team Manager volunteer with British Swimming having recently supported their Senior Team at the European and World Aquatic Championships.

She loves spending time with her family and this is often spent watching live sport.  Being active is high on her agenda and she squeezes in as many walks (and talks 😉) as possible while enjoying the great outdoors.

And what we do works…

Our success is built on strong relationships with our clients while creating a bespoke approach to meet their needs. We know our clients are very happy to share their stories of the impact we've made, so please get in touch and we will connect you.
